Marynelle catches dinner

The main reason that we came back over to the Oregon coast was so that I could use the new crab net that I bought. I bought a shellfish license yesterday so I would be legal. Wayne and I went out this afternoon with no experience and with two chicken drumsticks. We bought another crab net from the man who makes them so I could throw out two nets. We rigged up both nets and Wayne threw them out for me. The first one I pulled in I caught this beautiful dungeness crab plus a lot of smaller ones.

We brought in the nets several more times but didn't get another keeper. The drumsticks were gone quickly so we packed up and left. Next time we will bring more drumsticks. Here I am showing off my catch.

The crab was feisty until the bitter end. He was boiled, cleaned, and will become dinner tonight.

We will go back out tomorrow.
