Chico’s Style Show

On Thursday afternoon the theatre was full to capacity for our Chico’s Style show.

DSC_0002

First down the aisle was Ewell in this beautiful red and white top with white pants.

DSC_0005

Next was Carol in a blue and white sundress with an airy jacket.

DSC_0011

I was next in an orange Synergy outfit.  This material is really wash and wear.

DSC_0025

Phyllis wore these beautiful silver separates.  Today was her birthday and her husband, Bill, bought this outfit for her.

DSC_0033

Lee modeled this pretty green and white top with a white jacket and jeans.

DSC_0044

Our social director, Erin, wore this black and white polka dot top with black jeans, a red jacket, and scarf and belt.

DSC_0047

Annabelle had on a red and white top with white pants and a blue jacket.  She looks ready for the fourth of July.

DSC_0054

Ewell’s second outfit was a turquoise shell with a multi colored jacket and black pants.

DSC_0059

Carol tried to fly in her floating top with navy pants.

DSC_0062

I too had on a floating top with navy pants.

DSC_0071

Phyllis wore white pants with a shell and black sheer jacket.

DSC_0077

Erin was all in silver with a bolero jacket.

DSC_0086

Annabelle's top was a shimmery gold with black pants and a striped jacket.

DSC_0092

Phyllis’ last outfit was navy and white.  her jacket had lots of embellishment.

DSC_0105

My last outfit was a Traveler’s knit.  Notice anything different about me?  I got a wig just for fun.

DSC_0117

Annabelle had on this beautiful multi-colored top with black pants for her last outfit.

DSC_0124

After the show they brought out all the clothes for the ladies to touch and ooh and aah over.

DSC_0129

A fun time was had by all.  The best thing about being a model was that we got 10% off anything we wore.  I will go to the store tomorrow to see what I want.

Happy Hour Out at BJ’s

Last night was Happy Hour Out and we went to BJ’s.

We were a smaller group than usual.  From right to left and front to back are Peggy, Frank, Lee, Margaret, Peggy, Lindley, me, Phyllis, Bill, Kay, and Lyn.

DSC_0014

We filled up two booths and a table.

 DSC_0016

Bill, Phyllis, Kay and Peggy sat at the back booth.

DSC_0017 DSC_0018

Cat on the left met us there and sat with Peggy and Lindley who were joined by Annabelle who drove herself.

 DSC_0023

I got a picture of our table with Margaret, Lee, Lyn, Frank, and Wayne in it.

DSC_0020

Here is one table of appetizers and there was a BJ’s special pizza on the next table.  The food was wonderful as were the drinks.

DSC_0021

Erin our social director was also there.

DSC_0024

As usual, a fun time was had by all.

Mother’s Day 2013

Wayne and I drove the Beemer to Waco to meet Nola and Matt and Michelle and Michael at the Texas Roadhouse for lunch.

Here I am talking to Matt as he fixes my Android phone.

DSC_0001

The armadillo snuck into the picture.

DSC_0002

Here we are waiting, and waiting, and waiting even though we called ahead.

 DSC_0007

Here we all are.  Nola, Matt, Michael, Michelle, me, and Wayne.  Lunch was very good.

  DSC_0013

After lunch we all went to see Iron Man Three before driving back to our respective homes.

Trouble’s Hiding Place

Everytime we go out we make our dog, Trouble get off the couch.  Now when we rattle the car keys he automatically goes to his hiding place.

For some reason he likes to hide in our closet under the shirts.

 DSC_0014

When he realized Wayne had the camera he came out to see what was going on.

DSC_0004

Don’t know why he decided the closet was better than his bed and he won’t tell us why.

Out to Lunch Bunch

On Friday, the Out to Lunch Bunch gathered in the lobby to board the bus.  That’s Keith, our GM, in the background visiting with us before we leave.  Linda is on the front desk to greet visitors.
DSC_0001
We loaded up the bus.  On the left hand side from front to back are Margaret, Maggie, Tommye, Bob, and Lee.  On the right hand side are Bobbie, Kay, Lillian, Betsy, me, Gert, and Lyn.
DSC_0002
We went to Trudy's which is a place I used to go with the Ya Yas when we lived in Austin before.
DSC_0003
We had to wait a few minutes before we could get seated.
DSC_0005
Here we are with our waiter.  They had a Tex-Mex buffet which a lot of us took advantage of with some of the group ordering from the menu.
DSC_0006
Wayne and I enjoyed out  meals.   Wayne and Lyn said their margaritas were good. Some of the group selected spicier items from the buffet and weren’t as pleased.  And those who ordered off the menu had to wait quite a while to get their food.  We probably won’t come back here as a group.

Jewelry Class

This week we worked on simple informal  wire wrapping of sea glass and other flat stones. One lady finished her watch band from last class and another who had finished hers after I took the picture had hers on so I got a picture of both of them along with the wire wrapped pieces.

DSC01446

Next week we are going to work on a variety of stringing projects.  Some want to make necklaces, some want to make bracelets to put our room keys on and we may even have some earring makers.

Take me out to the Ballgame

On Monday we went to a Round Rock Express baseball game at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock.  Eight of us bought passes to the Intel Club which is air-conditioned.  Here is the view from the club.

DSC_0030

The weather was perfect so we didn’t need the AC.  Here I am sitting behind Bob and Tommye in front of the Intel Club.

DSC_0031

They had $1.00 hot dogs that day and we all got one.  Here are Lyn and Gert enjoying theirs.

DSC_0032

Those who didn’t buy Intel Club Passes were sitting somewhere over here.

DSC_0034

Here we are loaded up on the bus to come home.  On the left side, Carol is hiding behind the railing but her husband, Herb,  is easy to see.  Behind them are Betsy and George.  Behind them is Velma and behind her is Donald.  On the right hand side are Bob, Tommye, Wayne and me, Lyn, and Gert.

DSC_0036

We all had a lot of fun and look forward to going again.

Cinco de Mayo by the pool

Any excuse for a party.  Sunday was Cinco de Mayo so they decided to have a party by the pool.  Wayne and I got down by the pool early.  We joined three women who beat us down.

DSC_0016

That’s me in the red top and hat.

DSC_0017

It wasn’t long before there was a crowd.  I am not going to attempt to put names in on this blog.  They served margaritas, empanadas, guacamole, salsa, and sour cream.

DSC_0018

They had hired a mariachi band to entertain us.

DSC_0020

You can barely see me sitting on the far right hand side.

 DSC_0023

Here is a little better picture of the mariachis.

DSC_0024

Allison and Linda helped, Erin and her daughter serve the margaritas.  Cindy from marketing helped too.

DSC_0025

Here is a view looking away from the bath house.  It was very crowded and they had to bring out more chairs and tables.

DSC_0026

The mariachis came around to the different tables to sing and play for us.

DSC_0027

Looking towards the bathhouse where it filled up too.

DSC_0028

The decorations were colorful.

DSC_0029

We all decided that the party should last for two hours next year.  An hour wasn’t long enough.
