January Happenings

Well, here it is January and we haven’t done too much.

The first week of January Wayne surprised me with these beautiful flowers for no reason.  He must have known that he would be getting sick and couldn’t do anything special for my birthday on the 8th.  He ended up with Pneumonia but is better now.

Trouble has been about as lazy as we have.  Actually we both take him on walks so maybe he is just worn out.

Saturday the 23rd there was a Women’s Advance at in the club house.  We had two great guest speakers/singers from the Texas Prison Ministry.  Everyone brought a salad to share for lunch and it was wonderful.  After lunch we had a skit about all of the burdens we carry around with us that we shouldn’t and then more messages/songs from our guest speakers.  My favorite song from the Advance was “He’ll do it again.”  You can listen to it on here:

After supper Saturday night the Red Hat Ladies had a pajama party.  We had popcorn and root beer floats and watched the movie “Miss Potter.”  It was a fun evening.

After I got home from the pajama party I couldn’t resist taking a picture of  Wayne and Trouble watching TV together.

Next week will be our last week at this park.  We are moving to Aransas Pass which is between here and Corpus Christi.  That will put us closer to friends and doctors.  We will be at a brand new park called The Palms.  Here is a picture of our unfinished site.

A palm tree is going in on the right where the dirt is piled up and a privacy fence will be behind us.  The official opening is February 1st but as you can see it is almost full now.  It is a smaller park and hopefully there won’t be so many clicks as there are here at Lagoons.

Christmas 2009

I got a call from my brother the other day and he reminded me that I hadn’t updated my blog in a long time.  Now that it is almost the end of January I’ll try to get everyone up to date.

Here I am playing solitaire with Trouble in my lap.  If I am on the computer he wants to be in my lap.

Michelle and Marynelle in Nola's kitchen

Christmas eve Michelle fixed most of the dinner but I helped some with the mashed potatoes.

Marynelle, trouble and a mimosa

After dinner we enjoyed mimosas and opened presents.

Nola's new camera

Since I forgot to bring my camera we made sure that Nola was the first one to open her present—a new digital camera from her Matt, Michelle, and Michelle’s boyfriend, Michael.

Michelle and her presents from us

We gave Michelle accessories for the Kitchen Aid mixer that Michael gave her.

Matt and his adapter for his truck

Matt got a new stereo for his truck so we gave him an adapter for his ipod or whatever it is that he has to play his music.

Christmas day we went to Wayne’s brother Kim’s for Christmas dinner.  It’s the same house we were at Thanksgiving when I did have a camera with me.  As always Kim and Irma put on a feast and Wayne’s brothers, wives, children,  nieces, and nephews all enjoy it along with Irma’s children and grandchildren.

Here is a picture of our motorhome at the Lagoons RV Resort.
