More Echo and Beyond

On Tuesday evening, one of Wayne's classmates from the fourth grade in Echo and his wife came over to see us. After visiting for a while at the motorhome, we all went out for dinner. This is Bob and Gloria. Bob and Wayne had not seen each other in 53 years.
On Wednesday we met Wayne's cousin, Marvin, for lunch and then went back over to Aunt Clarice's to visit. I took some pictures of her beautiful roses.
The lavender rose has always been one of my favorites.

She has rose gardens in both the front and back yard and they are beautiful.

I took a better picture of Aunt Clarice. She is Wayne's father's sister.
Thursday was traveling day. We drove back along the Columbia River and this time we got a peek at Mt. Hood.

The Columbia has several dams so it is wider in some spots than others.

This is the water gushing from one of the dams. They had to build fish ladders at all of the dams for the salmon so they could get upstream to spawn.

This is an old lift bridge. We used to have one in Corpus Christi but they tore it down.

This is a closer view of Mt. Hood. It is still covered in snow. The last time we were in this area in July of 1991, it snowed on Mt. Hood.

We passed Malmouth Waterfall again and I couldn't resist taking another picture. I love waterfalls.

We stopped at Farmer Johns for some strawberry shortcake for me and a strawberry milkshake for Wayne. They had all kinds of fruit and vegetables and you could see where they came from in the fields.

We arrived in Lincoln City around 2:30 and got set up. We went to dinner at the Chinook Winds Casino and Resort and then we played blackjack for a while. Between us we came out ahead.
This morning we went down to the beach at low tide and I backcombed for agates and other pretty rocks. We had lunch at Mo's and then came back home. I got my crabbing license so I plan to go out soon.

I'll touch base again soon.
