Starting out for Las Vegas

The start of the trip wasn’t so great.  First one of the lens covers on one of the ceiling lights fell out and shattered on the tile floor.  We stopped at a roadside park to vacuum it up and after about fifteen minutes the generator quit.  Nothing we could do would get it to start or give us error codes.  Thank goodness we were headed to Albuquerque to the Cummins Care Center to have them look for a possible oil leak.  They are also an Onan Generator repair center.

The first night we got to Little Rock, Arkansas.  We stayed at the Downtown RV Park that is right on the river.  The last time we were there was for a FMCA Six-State Rally and there were 500+ other motor coaches there as well.  This time it was empty enough that we got a double pull through site and didn’t have to unhook the coach.

The next night we were just west of Oklahoma City where we got the tail end of the thunderstorms that were passing through.

The third night we stopped in Amarillo at the Overnight RV Park where we stayed last year.  We went to eat at the Big Texan again and the food was much better with lots of leftovers.

We arrived in Albuquerque for a two night stay.  They worked on the generator most of the day to find out that it was just a loose wire so no parts were needed.  Also, we hadn’t lost more oil so Wayne decided that there must have been an operator error when he checked it in Texas.

While they were working on the coach we drove out to Camping World and then checked out the Enchanted RV Park so that if they finished early we could go there.  They had several older trailers such as this one on display.

They didn’t finish with us until late so we hooked up for another night.  There are electric hook ups for four couches at the Cummins Care Center and we found people to have happy hour with.

Then it was on the road again.  We stopped at the Meteor Crater RV Park just east of Flagstaff for the evening.  When we tried to put the jacks down one of them didn’t want to cooperate.  If it’s not one thing then it is another.  This park has nice wide pull troughs that look at the San Francisco Peaks.

Wayne even saw some wild life behind the coach.

We had a wonderful view of the beautiful sunset.

We will stay here another night and wait for a call from Tiffin telling us what to do about the broken leveling jack.
