Digby Neck and the Islands

Monday we drove out on Digby Neck all the way to Brier Island.

On the way out we stopped in several coves to look around.  The tide was out as evidenced by these pictures at Gulliver’s Cove.

At Trout Cove I walked down to the water’s edge to get pictures of the fishing cottages with the water out.

I also got a picture of Rich, Wayne and Karla at the top of the hill.

This area had lots of old farm houses.

There were two churches across the street from each other.

At the turn to Sandy Beach Cove you could see theses boats sitting on land with the tide out.

This boat at Sandy Beach Cove had been out of the water for a while.

We stopped at The Balancing Rock Trail but we didn’t go up.  If you read the sign you will see why.

I wouldn’t mind having this house if I had the money to fix it up and modernize it.  That is a screened porch all across the front with a great view of the water.

We drove to the Grand Passage Lightstation on the west side of the island.

We also drove to the other light station but the pictures came out blurry.  Brier Island has some very old houses with interesting features.

When we got back to the turn for Sandy Beach the tide was in and all of the boats were floating.

The tides here are unbelievable.
