Naples and Sorrento

I’m going to try this with a lot less pictures.  If you want to see more pictures you can go to: http://picasaweb.google.com/marynelle/May182010#

We arrived in Naples and met with out driver/guide Tomaso.  Angelo had given him the impression that we wanted to see scenery rather than ruins so we headed out for Sorrento.  Here we are with Naples in the background.

The drive was beautiful.  The houses just hang on the cliffs.

We stopped in Sorrento for a look around the square and then we convinced our driver that we were interested in palaces and forts.  We headed back to Naples and he dropped us off at this amazing walled town.  Unfortunately it was  closed for a private wine tasting.

With nothing else to do for an hour we walked around the corner and found a place to eat.  Wayne and I shared a salad and a pizza.

Heading  back to the ship, we got a better view of this fortress that guarded the port.

DSC04977 The day was less that we had hoped for but nice all the same.
