Agate Beach

Friday was a beautiful day.  The sky was clear and the sun made it rather warm.  We decided to drive out to Agate Beach.

There is a nice parking lot with a walkway under the highway to the beach.

Unfortunately we couldn’t cross at the bottom of the path as a lot of water was running due to the recent rains.  We had to walk up the path to the highway to go down to the beach.

The beach was very wide from the rocks to the water.  The Japanese dock is still drawing lots of attention.  Wayne took pictures with various degrees of zoom.

As you can tell people were climbing all over it.

The wind made interesting patterns in the sand.

I looked for agates or shells but I didn’t find any.  As you can see from the jacket, the wind made it rather cool but I did walk in the water.

This beach is also a prime kite flying location and this is one of several kites being flown.

Wayne also got a picture of the Yaquina Head Lighthouse from the beach.

Friday night we drove up to Lincoln City to the casino for the seafood buffet again.  Bob and Sandy from Idaho went with us.  We had good food and good company.

Saturday morning was the Newport Farmer’s Market.  We went and Wayne bought some asparagus and I got a brownie.  That afternoon we went to the Gem and Mineral show and I got some pretty stones to wrap.

Sunday morning we went to church and then to lunch.  Wayne got calls from both daughters and one granddaughter wishing him a Happy Father’s Day.
