Yesterday morning we drove to Fisherman’s cove for lunch. Here are Fred and Karla outside the restaurant.

After lunch, Wayne and I drove downtown to the Halifax Citadel. This is a National Historic Site of Canada. We took Trouble with us. Here are Wayne and Trouble at the entrance to the Citadel.
From the parking lot it is a long walk up through a tunnel to the main grounds.
Once up we saw some of the British Army reenacting drills of the period.
The grounds themselves are very large.
This large building was the barracks.
This is what a typical barracks room would have looked like.
There were bagpipers from the British 78th Highlanders and the soldiers of the 3rd Royal Artillery, their wives, and their children all help to create the atmosphere of the era.
The information center had this great aerial photo of the Citadel.
There was also an informative film of the history of the Citadel. On top of the Citadel there were cannons. Every day at noon they fire one of the cannons.

Trouble enjoyed his visit.
We ended the evening with a campfire. here are Chuck and Wayne.
