This morning we headed up to Meat Cove at the top of Nova Scotia. We drove up the Cabot Trail to Neils Harbor. From there we took the scenic route through town. This is a view back at Neils Harbor.
Mike has been looking at lobster traps and we found some that were very cheap at $5 each.
The road goes up along New Haven Cove before heading inland.
We found more cormorants sunning themselves on the rocks.
There are lots of little coves with beaches along the way. Just haven’t figured out how you get to most of them.
We took a side road to White Point, a small fishing village.
These four boats look as if they have received a fresh coat of paint and are ready for the next season.
We saw a muskrat swimming in one of the coves. Its that little dark spot at the bottom of the picture.
We stopped for gas at Meat Cove and went to the Celtic Museum there. They had a beautiful garden.
As we headed up towards Meat Cove we saw this tractor pulling a boat with kids everywhere. It was really funny.
Talk about views—these people must have one of the best.
This is the road leading up to Meat Cove.
We had lunch at the Chowder House at the end of the road. Here are Rich, Fred, Barbara, and Karla.
Here are Mike, Emelie, Bruce, and Diane sitting outside.
Here is Bruce, Laura, Emelie, Mike and Chuck.

We saw our first moose but don’t look too carefully as he is a metal cutout.
We drove over to Bay St. Lawrence to see where people were buying snow crabs off the boat.
Being Sunday, no one was on the boats. Here is a boat out of water and the baskets they use to catch snow crabs. Makes my crab net look really small.
