Since last night was our last night to be with Mike and Patty, we requested that he make his famous pizza. I didn’t realize it but this is an all day affair. First he makes the pizza dough and lets it rise. Later he lights the pizza oven and watches over it until it reaches 700 to 900 degrees. Here are Mike and Wayne waiting for the oven to heat.
Here is Mike with the pizza oven behind him.
This is the pool and covered patio with the wonderful jasmine climbing everywhere.
Here is Patty checking out the pizza toppings to be sure nothing is missing.
First we rolled out the dough.
Then we rolled it with a special roller so that the crust will be crisp.
Then we put on our special toppings. Mine had chicken, sautéed onions, red, green, and yellow peppers, mushrooms, and olives covering the marinara and pesto sauces. Then topped with mozzarella cheese.
Patty likes her chicken coated in barbeque sauce.
Mike puts them way back in the oven to cook. They were wonderful.
While we were enjoying dinner a squirrel and a blue jay came to visit. There are lots of squirrels and birds in their back yard. Patty feeds them regularly.
To top off the evening Patty had bought little desserts for each of us. It was a wonderful way to end our visit. Tomorrow they leave for a wedding in Las Vegas.
