Thursday night we went to the Mirage. We ate at their wonderful buffet and then went out near the pool. Here is Wayne near the pool.
Three summers ago, when we watched America’s Got Talent, a ventriloquist named Terry Fator won. One of the prizes is always a stint in Las Vegas. Well, three years later he is still playing to packed crowds.
A DJ/Dancer entertained us for the hour between the doors opening and the show beginning. He played mostly songs we knew.
Then it was time for Terry Fator and Winston the Impersonating Turtle to open the show.
The unique thing about this act is that the puppets don’t just talk—they imitate famous singers.
This is Walter T. Airdale the country music legend who is running for President of the USA.
This is Monte Carlo, the lounge singer, who does Perry Como and Frank Sinatra.
This is Duggie Scott Walker the annoying neighbor who does rock and roll singers.
This is Wrek the Impact Assessment Consultant. He doesn’t want to be called a Crash Test Dummy for obvious reasons. He sings a variety of songs about cars.
Julius is the Soul Singer and does both male and female soul singers.
This is Emma Taylor, the girl with the big voice.
This is Hyphen, the Delusional British Rock’n Roller. He swears that he was part of the original Beatles and has the pictures to prove it.
Maynard Thompkins claims to the be world’s greatest Elvis Impersonator. Only he is very shy, stutters, and claims not to know any Elvis songs. Then he belts out Love Me Tender and Blue Suede Shoes.
Vikki is the Cougar. Her songs are sultry.
Terry then got an unwitting man up on stage and turned him into a Dolly Parton impersonator. It was very funny.
Winston came back on to close the show.
The show was very entertaining. And he is a fellow Texan to boot.
