We left Halifax this morning and traveled back to Amherst the same way we had been before. Then we headed west to some beautiful country. It seemed like we were crossing a different river every few miles.
We went through a few towns with beautiful churches.
We finally arrived at the Miramichi River and their very large bridge.
This is a view of the town of Chesterfield from the bridge.
In the afternoon Karla, Laura, Jeannie (Diane’s Replacement, i.e.., Mike’s other cousin), and I went into Chesterfield to look around. There are some very old homes and buildings there.
This was the old custom house/post office.
It was built in 1893.
This is a view of some of the old buildings alone the main street.
This is a restaurant in an old depot with a view of the bridge in the background.
This is the Flatiron Building that is an historical building. It had a very interesting shape.
This old building is now a pub.
Here is a view of the two buildings together.
All of the corners had beautiful flower baskets on them.
Here is a view of town from the other end.
This unusually door knob caught my eye.
When I saw the building that the door belonged to it all made sense.
This is the pharmacy building that was build in 1892.
When we got back to the campground we found the men minus one sitting around visiting.
