Today we drove to Caraquet, NB, the birthplace of the Acadians. They have a huge Acadian festival of their culture from August 1st through August 15th that we will be there for. We crossed over several rivers along the way.
Sometimes we were close to the Chaleur Bay.
As we got close to Caraquet, we found that most of the houses and businesses were decorated with the Acadian colors and the flag that has a gold star.
In town there are some beautiful old homes. Many have been turned into B&Bs.
The flowers grow extremely well here. These are waist high Easter Lilies.
In the evening we went to a B&B to meet some more people from Louisiana. This was the view from the porch.
This was the laundry line in front of the B&B.
And this was the flagpole and lighthouse along with a view of the marina.
Everything is red, white, and blue.
