We left Whitehorse and headed to Dawson Creek. it was a pretty drive and we followed a river most of the way.
We saw signs that said to watch out for bison and sure enough we soon had to stop while this big fellow crossed the road in front of us. He was all alone which is not typical for bison.
We drove on for quite a while enjoying the scenery.
We suddenly came across a herd of bison on both sides of the road.
They took their sweet time crossing the road and these two decided to walk down the yellow line so no one could move.
The mountains were just as pretty as those we had seen earlier but not much snow.
We drove by some very clear lakes that you could see the bottom in.
We stopped at the beautiful lake and I got a picture with the mountains in the background.
Wayne got out to see how far out he could see to the bottom.
We continued on our way and saw this interesting crater like area in the mountain.
We also drove along pretty creeks and rivers.
We rounded a curve and came across this mountain goat in the roadway. There were several more but I didn’t get a good picture.
We also had a deer or caribou cow cross the road in front of us. We thought it was a deer but the people we talked to later thought it was probably a caribou cow.
The further we got from Whitehorse the further away the mountains got from the road.
I thought this area has some interesting stratification.
I caught this sunset just before we went to bed.
Tomorrow we will try to find a truck wash and then head towards Jasper, AB.
