We stayed at Mile 0 RV park last night.
We got there after they closed and the manager didn’t want to help at all. He implied that he didn’t think he had any open sites but that if we found one we could park in it. We found a place to park and set up for the night. The RV park is right next to this historic village and visitor’s center and looked as if it might be interesting to see if we had more time.
The mountains are getting smaller and there was a lot of farm and ranch land.
There were also pretty rivers and creeks.
I really loved the way the sun shone from behind these clouds.
Now the mountains are getting larger again.
We entered the Jasper National Park.
Shortly after entering the park we encountered lots of cars stopped looking at these goats.
This lake that runs along the highway right after you enter the park must be very shallow. It looked like people were walking on water.
The mountains in this area are very tall.
Some of the mountains are covered in trees while others look like the are solid stone or mud.
The sun wasn’t setting yet but the sky behind the mountains was pink.
I thought there was a private RV park within the town of Jasper but I was wrong and we had to go to a public park which Wayne hates. Moreover, we had to take a site with no hook-ups so needless to say he was not happy. After dinner we were driving back to our site when we came upon this bull elk eating. He left when I got the camera out.
We went a little further and there was a cow and her calf eating.
A little further and it seemed that there was a whole herd of elk in our campground area.
Later in the evening we were sitting out and having a glass of wine when two Phaeton owners and their dogs came by. They stayed for a while and while we were visiting one of the dogs came to attention and we saw this young bull elk walking in the vacant camp site next to us. As you can tell I had the camera on the wrong setting.
A few minutes later this cow walked by on the other side of us.
It may not have been Wayne’s favorite camp site but I sure enjoyed being close up and personal with the wild life.
