Fred and Barbara went into Boston this morning while Rich, Karla and Mindy, Joe and Shirley, and Wayne and I drove to Provincetown via Hwy 6A which is the scenic route. We saw lots of neat old houses along the way. We stopped at a Dunkin Donut for a snack and saw this old windmill next door. That’s Joe walking closer to get a better picture.
One of the first things you see as you approach Provincetown is the Pilgrim’s Monument commemorating the fact that the Pilgrims landed here prior to going to Plymouth.
Here is a view of the library from a distance.
Here is a better view. It is currently close for renovation.
Here is Shirley getting to know the bronzed girl portraying a statue. She was really good. She even played the harmonica.
This pretty old house has been made into a restaurant.
This is an old government building. I especially liked the sign in the upper right hand corner.
This old house had interesting trim. Joe is an architect and he told us that each architect/builder had his signature trim that he put on all his houses.
Provincetown was an interesting place to walk around. There were lots of jewelry stores and art stores and lots of places to eat.
Tomorrow will be a down day for Wayne and I while the others go off in different directions.
