Kenai Fjords Boat Cruise
In Seward we were camped at the City's Resurrection Park right on Resurrection Bay. The view was spectacular.
We went into town about 10:30 to look around and wait to get on a boat for a tour of the Kenai Fjords. This is the middle of the the town shopping area.
This was a cute wooden seal sculpture.
There was also a cute wooden bear sculpture
and a whale sculpture placed around the area.
We finally boarded the boat and set out in Resurrection Bay. We saw this cute Sea Otter playing around. It was an overcast day so we didn't get very good pictures.
He was eating something.
These are some crazy kayaks. I say crazy mainly because it was not a very nice day.
If you look closely you can make out a Lion's Main Jelly Fish in the water.

Off to Seward
We are leaving Anchorage to go to the Kenai Peninsula. We will travel to three different cities there beginning with Seward today.

We are driving down the same highway that we went on earlier this week when we went to Portage Glacier. This time it is a little less cloudy so I took pictures again. This is another view of Turnagain Arm.
Wayne is still doing the driving even though I have offered to relieve him.

We stopped at beautiful valley where we were greeted with three bagpipers and a cartoon character. As you can tell it is misting.
There was a group doing something with dogs further down in the valley. We couldn't tell exactly what they were doing.

Sourdough Mining Company
Tonight the group went to the Sourdough Mining Company for dinner. Wayne is getting the bug that has been going around and so he didn't go. This place serves family style. There was salmon, steak, and chicken along with slaw, hush puppies, etc.

Then just as we got full we were told there was an ice cream sundae bar.
After dinner we waddled over to their Wild Berry Theatre to see a movie about Alaska and the wildlife. It was very good.

Tour of Anchorage
This morning we went on a city tour of Anchorage. We went to Old Towne, Black Elk Crafts, Alaska Fur Exchange, Ulu Factory, Float Plane Harbor, we got to see an urban moose up real close. Unfortunately we rode in one of the vans and I didn't have a window seat so no pictures.
In the afternoon we carpooled along Turnagain Arm. This is an area where beluga whales come in but we didn't see any.

We drove to the Indian Valley Meats store. They had some fowl running around and some caged. This appears to be some sort of a pheasant.

This peacock was just wandering around the grounds with its friend the chicken.
We went to the Portage Glacier National Park headquarters and saw a film on the glacier. At the end of the show they open the curtains and you are supposed to be able to see the glacier. Only problem was that is was too overcast to see it.

Our next stop was the Wild Animal Park that has animals that are being rehabilitated. Here we saw moose,
musk ox,
buffalo,
and elk. We also saw a grizzly but no picture.
When we came out I found this cage with a cute fox.
black bears,
